Morocco invests in the future of digital literacy with launch of INNOVATORS Academy Morocco

A bold new chapter in Morocco’s educational journey began today with the official launch of the INNOVATORS Academy Morocco, a groundbreaking initiative that positions digital literacy at the heart of future-ready learning.

Held under the theme “Digital Skills in Education: From Vision to Implementation,” the Academy is the product of a strategic tri-party collaboration between the Moroccan Ministry of Education, AtlasBridges Diaspora Platform, and INNOVATORS.

A Visionary Alliance for Transformational Education

This forward-thinking partnership reflects a shared commitment to revolutionize Morocco’s education system through the systemic integration of digital competencies. By uniting national policy with global expertise and grassroots innovation, the INNOVATORS Academy serves as a model for sustainable, scalable digital transformation in education.

Turning Vision into Action

Running from April 14–17, 2025, the Academy features an immersive, practice-driven program designed for educators, school leaders, and decision-makers. Led by international experts from the Netherlands, participants engage with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies—including Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, STEAM education, digital safety, and blended learning.

The Academy’s hands-on approach empowers participants to transform abstract strategies into real-world solutions, equipping classrooms and institutions across Morocco with the tools to thrive in a digital age.

Official Opening: A Catalyst for Innovation

The launch event brought together a distinguished group of attendees, including Ilco Den Ouden, Deputy Director of The INNOVATORS, who was joined by directors Christa Klop and Guus Roelofs. Also in attendance were Dirk Jan Nieuwenhuis, the Dutch Ambassador to Morocco; Zaher Hajji, Division Head of the National Laboratory for Digital Resources; Said El Amraoui, Representative of Atlas Bridges; and Fatiha Agrida Trainer and Advisors and Hafida Makioui Manager for The INNOVATORS. Their presence highlighted the international importance of the initiative and its potential to inspire lasting impact. Initial feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with educators eager to implement the insights they gained.

A Long-Term Commitment to Impact

The INNOVATORS Academy is more than a training program—it’s a launchpad for long-term collaboration aimed at embedding digital fluency into the fabric of Moroccan education. This initiative represents a powerful example of what’s possible when local vision meets global innovation.

With the successful launch now underway, Morocco signals its ambition not just to keep pace with the digital revolution—but to lead it.
