Support for the teacher, space for the student
CKV-lab consciously chooses not to follow an art historical methodology, but rather a context-related approach. The method offers assignments with topics that are relevant to current societal issues.
CKV-lab aligns with various educational ideologies. The method can be followed in the classroom, in groups, or individually. Theory, practical assignments, cultural activities, and research are integrated within each module. This allows the teacher to monitor learning processes both inside and outside the classroom.
This methodological approach allows students the space to find their own path. By exploring the topic, forming opinions, and gaining insight into the artist’s process, students engage in a practical assignment. When combined with preparation for the cultural activity, this culminates in an analysis and reflection on the experience. In the final multidisciplinary research assignment, all elements of the methodology come together seamlessly.
Content
Personal experience of art and culture.
CKV-lab helps students form an understanding of the cultural and artistic environment by examining it from various perspectives: the art itself, the context in which it functions, the digital world, and from both general and personal citizenship viewpoints. These aspects contribute to the personal experience of art and culture.
CKV-lab also offers assignment blocks with topics related to art and culture that are relevant to society. The following questions are central to these assignments: What is art? What is its societal and personal significance? And what is the common, authentic, and ever-evolving view of art?
In contrast to Art General, CKV-lab consciously opts for a context-related methodology rather than an art historical one.
